Pictures Worth Several Thousand Words: Arizona Democratic Leaders Help Feed Arizonans While Republican Ones are Nowhere to Be Found

With close to 42 million Americans, including close to a million Arizonans facing potential starvation because Project 2025 MAGA Republicans led by Marie “Let Them Starve” Trump do not care about feeding the nation’s most vulnerable, including children, Governor Katie Hobbs and Democratic Legislative Leaders Senator Priya Sundareshan and Oscar De Los Santos were at St. Mary’s Food Bank in Phoenix today helping to put together groceries that people will need once their access to SNAP benefits disappears on Saturday, November 1, 2025.

Below are pictures from todays event courtesy of Governor Hobbs and Arizona House/Senate Democrats.

Commenting on the event, Governor Hobbs posted on social media:

“Arizona families are facing tough times, and our food banks are stepping up every day to help. I spent the morning volunteering at @StMarysFoodBank and encourage everyone who can to lend a hand or donate—every bit makes a difference. Donate at http://azgovernor.gov”

Democratic Leader Oscar De Los Santos wrote:

“While Washington politicians play games with people’s lives, Arizona Democrats are leading for the people.
@GovernorHobbs just released $1.8 million in emergency food funding and @AZAGMayes is suing to ensure families don’t go hungry.”

Arizona House Democrats issued a joint post, stating:

“Arizona Democratic leaders are taking what emergency action they can, but Trump’s USDA has $6b in contingency funds they could release today to end the SNAP crisis and keep Arizonans from going hungry. They refuse to help. So today Leaders @RepODLS and @priya4az joined @GovernorHobbs to volunteer at St. Mary’s Food Bank and will keep pressing the Trump Administration and Republicans to stop using hunger as a political weapon.”

So did Arizona Senate Democrats:

“Today Leaders Priya Sundareshan and Oscar De Los Santos joined Governor Katie Hobbs at St. Mary’s Food Bank to help volunteers and emphasize the impact the loss of SNAP funding will have on Arizonans.”

Who was missing from these pictures?

Arizona’s leading Republicans.

Feeding the states most vulnerable, including innocent and defenseless children, should not be a partisan issue and everyone should want to do all that is necessary to make sure no one starves thanks to MAGA Republican Project 2025 cruelty and, yes, inhumanity.

A Federal Judge in Boston held a hearing today on Attorney Kris Mayes and other AG’s lawsuit to compel the Trump regime to use contingency funds to replenish the SNAP program so people can use their EPT cards at the state’s and nation’s grocery stores.

Stay Tuned.

  1. I’m a grower for Tucson Food Share. Took them 5 pounds of silk squash today, plus Armenian cucumbers and Greek oregano from our yard — which we have turned into a little urban truck farm.
