Monday, January 11, Noon: Opening day of the First Regular Session of the 55th Arizona Legislature. “No man’s (or woman’s) life, liberty or property are safe while the Legislature is in session.” Governor Doug Ducey will deliver a virtual State of the State Address at 2:00 p.m. [The Sedition Caucus should not be allowed to take the oath of office because they are committing false swearing by making a false sworn statement, knowing it to be false (because they do not intend to support the Constitution of the United States and “bear true faith and allegiance to the same” and “defend [it] against all enemies, foreign and domestic”), a class 6 felony under A.R.S.§13-2703]. These supporters of insurrection against the federal government should be facing expulsion from the Arizona legislature.
Note: The Tucson Metro Chamber normally hosts Governor Doug Ducey at the annual State of the State luncheon to deliver a virtual State of the State Address detailing the issues affecting not only Southern Arizona, but the entire state of Arizona. There does not appear to be any information for this event on the Chamber’s website, not even a virtual event. UPDATE: Ducey to scrap in-person State of the State speech for virtual event due to COVID.

Inauguration Day

Tickets to the inaugural swearing-in ceremony are normally assigned within about a month or two of the inauguration date and may be requested from members of the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives.
