El Día de San Juan Fiesta is a traditional family friendly Westside cultural celebration that is free and open to public. The celebration will start at 5PM with the official launching of the Santa Cruz River Heritage Project. Prayers from several cultural traditions will be offered. The procession will go through Barrio Sin Nombre before arriving at the Mercado San Agustin Annex. The procession will travel onto the Annex where the Fiesta will go into full swing at 7PM. There will be entertainment, live music, piñatas, local food and crafts vendors, family activities and more. In keeping with the theme of the monsoon season and renewal, free water will be provided by Tucson Water to all Fiesta attendees. This year’s event is organized by El Dia De San Juan Coalition and facilitated by the offices of Councilor Regina Romero and Chairman Richard Elias. AZ BlueMeanie
The Blue Meanie is an Arizona citizen who wishes, for professional reasons, to remain anonymous when blogging about politics. Armed with a deep knowledge of the law, politics and public policy, as well as pen filled with all the colors stolen from Pepperland, the Blue Meanie’s mission is to pursue and prosecute the hypocrites, liars, and fools of politics and the media – which, in practical terms, is nearly all of them. Don’t even try to unmask him or he’ll seal you in a music-proof bubble and rendition you to Pepperland for a good face-stomping. Read blog posts by the infamous and prolific AZ Blue Meanie here.
