Yesterday’s horrific attempted assassination attempt on Donald Trump was met with universal condemnation and outrage by all segments of American society.
Political violence is NEVER NEVER appropriate. This is the United States of America. We settle our differences at the ballot box not with attempted coups like storming the Nation’s Capitol nor with targeted attacks and assassinations of political figures.
If someone commits a crime and is found guilty after a trial, they may go to jail if all appeals are exhausted not in their favor. They are not marked for execution.
No matter our political differences and how much we may regard the opposition’s views as counter to our interpretation of the American Ideal, resorting to violence is NEVER NEVER the answer.
It is also never appropriate to assign blame when all the facts of the incident are not known. Several figures in the MAGA world have used this repulsive act to blame the rhetoric of President Biden and other Democrats for the attempted assassination.
First, that is rich coming from the MAGA world. There have been eight years of these far-right figures spewing political venom that has caused violence. Remember January 6, 2021. Remember the attempt to kidnap Gretchen Whitmer. Remember the attack on Paul Pelosi.
Second, it turns out that the shooter was a 20-year-old registered Republican who used an AR-15 weapon that Mr. Trump and most of his followers did not want to ban.
These people looking to exploit this tragedy, without knowing anything, for political gain are truly repulsive and disgusting.
Let the authorities uncover the facts people.
President Joe Biden had it right when he called the attempted assassination of Mr. Trump ‘”Sick.”
Reactions among elected Arizona Democratic circles were much like President Bidens. Please see a sampling below.

Hey BforAZ, some of us have been having issues with the comments not showing up or showing up days later.
I just tried a VPN using another “location”, in this case, Chigago, and things popped right up.
Something networky is wonky. That’s tech jargon for janky.
I’d guess it’s a geo sync’ing issue but I haven’t been hands on for some time.
“Remember January 6, 2021. Remember the attempt to kidnap Gretchen Whitmer. Remember the attack on Paul Pelosi”
Repugs went into outright denials about January 6, made excuses about Gretchen Whitmer and made jokes (Looking at you Felon!) about Paul Pelosi. And now they’re immediately trying to speciously blame Biden & the Democrats way before the facts are in.
What happened yesterday was truly tragic but don’t let that obscure the truth that Felon and his party are monsters, and those monsters have no problem putting vile people into positions of leadership.
Glad to see you are taking President Biden’s advice and turning down the vitriol.
Fact Check
The 2022 Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) took place in Dallas, Texas, from Aug. 4-7, featuring Republican notables such as former U.S. President Donald Trump and U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, as well as an assortment of panel discussions.
A digital banner displayed during one of those panel discussions became the subject of controversy when photographs and video clips of it went viral on social media. The banner read: “We Are All Domestic Terrorists.”
“Conservative panelists at CPAC Dallas embraced a new label on Saturday,” read a tweet by the Houston Chronicle, “adopting ‘domestic terrorist’ as a badge of honor.”

Johnny Boy (And I do mean boy!), speaking the truth is not vitriol. Guess you’ve been wallowing in the right wing media sewer for so long you’re incapable of determining the difference.
Just because the lies peddled by the right wing media are lies you want to hear does not make them the truth.
We must continue our efforts towards gun reform and especially the banning of Assault weapons of any kind.
