Later today, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris will appear together at a Harris for President Labor Day event in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to discuss their achievements in expanding the middle class and lifting people up while charting a New Way Forward/Opportunity Economy in a Harris/Walz Administration.
Before that, the Vice President will attend a Labor Day event in Detroit, Michigan, to expand on her Opportunity Economy plans.
This morning, both Biden and Harris posted messages on social media, highlighting their support for America’s working class and unions.
In President Biden’s post, he repeated many of the comments he has said in his years of public service, including:
- “Wall Street didn’t build America. The Middle Class Built America, and Unions built the Middle Class.”
- “I’m proud to be the most pro-union President in American History.”
- “My Dad used to have an expression. He’d say, “Joey. A job’s a lot more than a paycheck. For real. It’s about your dignity. It’s about respect. It’s about being able to look your kid in the eye and say, “Honey, it’s going to be okay and mean it when you say it.”
In her comments, the Vice President extolled the benefits of unions in American History, saying:
- “When union wages are up, everybody’s wages go up.”
- “When union workplaces are safer, all workplaces are safer.”
- “When unions are strong, America is strong.”
- “The strength of America is because of the workers of America and the recognition of the dignity of the work that those workers do.”
After the Labor Day events, the Vice President, with Donald Trump’s triple whammies of flip-flopping on Florida’s reproductive freedom ballot measure, the lingering controversy over his recent visit to Arlington National Cemetery, and confessing he did try to interfere with the 2020 Presidential election, will launch the Reproductive Freedom Bus Tour in Mr. “I Killed Roe v Wade’s” adopted home town of West Palm Beach.
Commenting to the Tampa Bay Times, Harris/Walz Campaign Manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez said of this expansion of the battleground map,
“Our campaign is hitting the road to meet voters in their communities, underscore the stakes of this election for reproductive freedom, and present them with the Harris-Walz ticket’s vision to move our country forward, which starkly contrasts with Donald Trump’s plans to drag us back. As we crisscross the country, we’ll be driving that contrast home to red and blue voters and independents.”
Suffice it to say, if the Harris/Walz ticket wins Florida, where reproductive freedom is on the line and book banning is spreading like wildfire, they probably win the November elections and take many Democratic candidates down the ballot to victory with them.
