President Obama coming to Phoenix on Thursday

For those of you who requested details about President Obama’s visit to Phoenix on Thursday, the Arizona Republic has the details. Obama to speak at Central High during Phoenix visit:

ObamaPresident Barack Obama will visit Central High School in Phoenix on Thursday to speak about the nation’s housing recovery and unveil a new plan to boost homeownership, the White House announced.

Obama will arrive in the Valley on Wednesday night after visiting Detroit to discuss his administration’s efforts to help the auto industry and save jobs during the Great Recession.

Obama’s speech at Central High School will “put a spotlight on how the recovering housing sector has helped restore wealth and economic security to millions of middle-class families,” the White House said in a statement. The president also will “announce new steps to help more Americans achieve the American dream of owning a home.”

Members of the public can receive free tickets to attend this week’s speech. Tickets will be distributed at noon Tuesday at the Phoenix Union High School District office, 4502 N. Central Ave. One ticket per person will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Doors will open at 8 a.m. Thursday for the speech at Central High. The event also will be streamed live online at www.whitehouse.gov/live.

  1. I wonder if he was told that January 8, 2015 is the 4th year anniversary of the attempted assassination of Congresswoman Gabby Giffords, and that Tucson Tragedy shooting of 19 people.
