President Obama to speak at an interfaith vigil for families of the victims

The Hartford Courant reports President Barack Obama To Visit Newtown:

President Barack Obama will appear at an interfaith vigil Sunday at 7 p.m. in Newtown.

The event is closed to the public and open only to victims' families. Obama will not make any public appearances in Newtown.

Jay Carney, the White House press secretary, released this statement: "Tomorrow evening the president will travel to Newtown … to meet with the families of those who were lost and thank first responders. The president will also speak at an interfaith vigil for families of the victims as well as families from Sandy Hook Elementary scheduled for 7 p.m. EST. More details will be released as they are available."

  1. Watching this and cannot believe all the waiting involved for these people that have already gone through so much. This is a joke and I would have gotten up and left already! Shameful!

  2. My understanding is that the President has said this will be a private affair between him and those affected and in the community and without media coverage – and that is as it should be!!!!!
