David McAfee reports, GOP congressman introduces bill that would punish Bragg for investigating Trump:
Calling the decision of District Attorney Alvin Bragg to indict former president Trump a prosecutorial overreach, one Trump-fluffer congressman has decided to try to actually punish Bragg for taking that unprecedented step.
Congressman Andy Biggs (R-AZ) wants to “hold the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office accountable” for bringing charges against Trump in connection with alleged hush-money payments made prior to his election, according to an announcement by the politician.
Today, Biggs introduced two pieces of legislation, The Accountability for Lawless Violence In Our Neighborhoods Act, [ALVIN Act, get it?] which would stop federal funds from being awarded to the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office and require the office to repay certain backdated federal funds [so much for the phony GQP concern about crime in New York City], and the No Federal Funds for Political Prosecutions Act, which would prohibit state or local law enforcement agencies from using money or property seized through asset forfeiture to investigate or prosecute the president, vice president, or a candidate for the office of president in a criminal case. [This one is aimed as well at District Attorney Fani Willis in Fulton County, Georgia.]

“District Attorney Alvin Bragg ran on a campaign pledge to indict President Trump. Bragg took the unprecedented action of converting alleged minor business misdemeanors to 34 individual felonies in an attempt to put President Trump behind bars and humiliate him and his supporters,” Biggs said in the press release. “This weaponized prosecutor’s office has spent thousands of federal taxpayer dollars to subsidize this political indictment and is demanding millions more in federal grants.”
Biggs went on to call the “waste of federal resources for political purposes” by Bragg “disturbing.”
You want to talk about a waste of federal tax dollars? Every dime ever spent on Andy Biggs’ and his staffs’ salaries are a waste of federal tax dollars. They are not serving the citizens of Arizona. They only engage in performance politics for air time on Fox News and the other right-wing media outlets (just check out his Twitter feed).
Just last week, Arizona Republican congressman sponsors 521 bills in a day: “In just a single day, the former House Freedom Caucus chairman sponsored more bills than anyone else in an entire two-year sitting of Congress going back to 1973-74. If anybody else holds the record, they would have set it between 1789 and 1973.” File them in the shredder.
The announcement came the same day as Trump himself posted on Truth Social, “There is no more dire threat to the American way of life than the corruption and weaponization of our Justice System…”
Pure psychological projection. The Trump Justice Department under the most corrupt Attorney General in American History, Bill Barr, was a “weaponized” justice system. Barr turned the DOJ into Donald Trump’s personal defense law firm to protect him, and to prosecute his political enemies (e.g., his former fixer and lawyer Michael Cohen).
Special counsel Jack Smith needs to accelerate the pace of his January 6 investigation and file indictments against all of the GQP congressional Coup Plotter co-conspirators. 11 House Republicans attended a White House meeting with Trump to strategize about overturning the election results on January 6. Six of them later asked for pardons. It is infuriating that this POS traitor is still walking around free and shooting his big mouth off in public.
Andy Biggs should be disqualified from holding any political office ever again under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment.
