Republicans line up to support Felecia Rotellini

This is becoming something of a trend for Democratic candidates: a committee of well-known Republicans who support their candidacy over their Tea-Publican opponent. I don’t see the reverse of this happening.

The Arizona Capitol Times (subscription required) reports Raft of Republicans back Democratic AG candidate:

Felicia-RFormer Arizona Gov. Fife Symington is among nearly 200 prominent Republicans who are endorsing Democrat Felecia Rotellini over the GOP candidate in the race for Arizona attorney general.

Symington, former Maricopa County Attorney Rick Romley, sports executive and businessman Jerry Colangelo and former Tucson Mayor Bob Walkup are among the endorsements Rotellini announced Monday.

Rotellini faces Mark Brnovich in November’s general election. Brnovich beat incumbent Tom Horne in last month’s Republican primary.

The race has drawn spending from national groups for both Republican and Democratic attorneys general associations.

Maybe it is because there is not a wit of difference between Tom Horne and Mark Brnovich, policy-wise. See www.WrongForArizona.com. Horne is the subject of numerous investigations and lawsuits, and Brnovich won his primary simply by being “Not Tom Horne.” Upon closer examination of the candidates and their policy positions, many Republicans are lining up to support Felecia Rotellini.

  1. Sadly, I am probably going to vote for Rotellini as well. This year I may be voting for a record number of Democrats and that is a darned shame. My Reoublicans just don’t seem to have cut the mustard when it came to finding a decent raft of candidates. And that’s dumd because we do have decent people that could run but didn’t.

    I feel sad…

  2. I’ll have to look more into her positions. Getting rather tired of the far right Tea Party types (as if I wasn’t before, but even more so).
