RTA Next: Yes or No? Info Videos! Mailing Deadline 3/3/26! Election Ending Date 3/10/26! Please Vote!

Many are delaying sending in their RTA Next ballot (Pima Props 418/419) because they still haven’t decided how to vote. Well, tomorrow, March 3rd is the last day to mail your ballot in. The Election ends on March 10th at 7PM Arizona time, and any ballots turned in between March 4th until the final deadline will have to be hand delivered to a drop location. Here is the Pima Co RTA Next elections page with all the details, including drop locations.

I had a conversation and QA with Mayor Romero on why she will be voting YES and urges everyone to do the same, in my role as Program Director for TheDGT.org.

TheDGT.org will also be speaking with Tucson Councilperson Miranda Schubert on why she will be voting NO and urges everyone to do the same on Zoom on Weds, March 6th at 6pm. That date isn’t ideal, of course, but if you just can’t decide and plan to hand drop your ballot, you should definitely register and attend that Zoom!

I will post that video for No on RTA Next as soon as possible after this Weds at 6pm!

The PBS program ‘The Press Room’ did a good town hall panel discussion with some advocates and some journalists (so it’s a bit weighted to the YES position), available here.

If you want a critical commentary on that fairly YES leaning event, Andrew Sheesley and I did a VOD reaction to the whole event in two episodes of our padcast, Insight Arizona. Also coming soon to your favorite podcast app through Spotify and Apple Podcast syndications!

Full disclosure, while I am strongly skeptical of many aspects of the RTA Next, I personally ended up voting YES to keep as much money as possible here in Southern AZ working for our communities and our local transportation systems. I don’t know how Andrew will vote.
