Special Election for LD 2 House Seat This Saturday

Now that state Rep. Adrea Dalessandro (D-Sahuarita) has moved up to the Senate to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Senator Linda Lopez in Legislative District 2, there is a vacancy in the House created by Dalessandro's departure.

There will be a special election to select three nominees to forward to the Pima County Board of Supervisors to appointment a replacement to the vacant House seat.

Only elected Democratic precinct committee persons living in Pima County are entitled to vote in the special election to be held this Saturday, February 1:

What: Special Election for LD 2 House Seat

When: Saturday, February 1, 9:30 a.m. sign-in, 10:00 a.m meeting

Where: Democratic Club of the Santa Rita Area HQ, 210 W. Continental Road, Ste. 248 (upstairs meeting room), Green Valley, AZ 85614.

Details: Announced candidates so far are Demion Clinco, Annabelle Nunez, and Miguel Cuevas, all of whom were candidates for the appointment to the Senate seat.  Only elected PCs will vote in person or by proxy, but all PCs and interested Democrats are encouraged to attend.

The special election will be followed by a petition signing party in the Green Valley Democratic Party Headquarters, located on the ground floor of the Continental Mall. Candidates will be in attendance with their petitions. Refreshments will be available.
