It’s time for All Souls Procession Weekend

25th annual All Souls Procession will be on Sunday, Nov. 9, starting at 4 p.m. to assemble north of the 6th Avenue underpass into downtown, at 6:30 p.m. proceed along Alameda Street to Congress Street, then under the I-10 to the San Agustin Mercado, 101 S. Avenida del Convento (for the finale).  About 20,000 people are expected at this event, one of Tucson’s largest celebrations, a Mexican tradition to remember loved ones who have passed on.

A CELEBRATION OF WESTSIDE TRADITION & HISTORY
El Dia de San Juan Committee invites the public to the 17th Annual El Dia de San Juan Fiesta Tuesday, June 24 from 5-10 p.m. at, 885 W. Congress St, next to the Mercado San Agustin. The Fiesta will feature a procession, live music and dance, food and arts & crafts vendors, games and activities for children, and free water and watermelon. Free and open to the public, the Fiesta is non-alcoholic and boasts a family-friendly atmosphere.

Pie Party parties on with Food Conspiracy Co-op

Ian Fritz and Turtle Southern, co-founders of the Pie Party, have passed the torch on to the Food Conspiracy Co-op along with pie party devotees’ email addresses.

This year’s Pie Party will be held on Saturday, May 10, from 3-6 p.m. at Mercado San Agustin.

Though previous Pie Parties have taken the form pie contest, this year’s event will be a pie potluck. Anyone can submit a pie to the Pie Party. Just drop off your pie (or pies) at the Mercado between 1-2 p.m.   Bakers’ entry forms will be entered into a raffle and two winners will receive a $50 gift card to the Food Conspiracy Co-op.
