“My mother taught us to never complain about injustice, but to do something about it. Do something about it.” –Kamala Harris.
That’s the call to action for us Democratic activists from Kamala Harris at the Democratic Convention. It’s time for us to reach out to voters before early votes are cast on October 9.
When you meet a voter at their door, in a phone call or via text, our message must begin with a single word: Freedom. Democrats stand for freedom. As we heard at the convention, that includes:
- Freedom to control your own body.
- Freedom to breathe clean air and drink clean water.
- Freedom to go to school without worrying about being shot dead in the hall.
- Freedom to vote.
- Freedom to live the life that you want to lead.
- Freedom love whom you love openly and with pride.
- Freedom to worship how you want.
- Freedom to join a union.
- Freedom to use clean energy.
The patriotism and joy at the Democratic Convention was resounding. I saw 23,000 people chanting “USA, USA” and waving a sea of handheld American flags. I felt proud to be an American again after a long time. We are a part of something much greater than ourselves. It is a movement for freedom.
The excitement is real. People are calling, emailing and texting LD18 to find out how to volunteer. Now is the time to turn our enthusiasm into votes by knocking on voters’ doors, texting them and mailing them.

The force is with us, because when we fight, we win. If anybody brings up Trump, just say, “We are not going back.” Say that he’s gotten stale. We’ve seen this movie before, and the sequel is always worse.”
It was part rock concert, part NBA game, and part tent revival. My hands were sore from clapping so much. My mind was numb from lack of sleep. But my heart was filled with confidence, pride and enthusiasm.
I’ve been a PC for 18 years, and this was the highlight of my career as a Democratic activist. The convention got 26.2 million viewers on 15 TV networks every night, raised $82 million in four days, and got 350 million views on Democratic online platforms.
Last Tuesday, Kamala hosted two in-person rallies in Milwaukee and Chicago for a live audience of 40,000 people at once. How’s that for crowd size?
Kamala’s grandnieces Amara, age 8 and Leela age 6, taught us how to pronounce her name in terms that grade school children and a MAGA President could understand. First, you say “comma,” and then you say “la.”
We got to see three presidents – Joe Biden, Bill Clinton, and Barack Obama. We heard from former Trump voters and Republicans, including former Rep. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois, Former Georgia Republican Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan, Former Trump White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham, former White House national security advisor Olivia Troye, and even Republican Mayor of Mesa, John Giles.
We heard from Arizona heroes: Governor Katie Hobbs, Secretary of State Adrian Fontes, AZ Dems Chair Yolanda Bejarano, Senator Mark Kelly, Senate candidate Ruben Gallego, and Tucson Mayor Regina Romero.
Our time is now! The future is up to you. Activate yourself and volunteer to elect Kamala Harris and Democrats up and down the ballot. <Click here> for Volunteer Opportunities and Events near YOU.
