Thank a Veteran Today

Posted by AzBlueMeanie:

Today is Veterans Day, originally Armistice Day observed on November 11 to recall the official end of World War I on that date in 1918, when the major hostilities of World War I were formally ended "at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month" of 1918 with the German signing of the Armistice.

When the "war to end all wars" did not end war, Armistice Day was renamed Veterans Day to honor all veterans in 1954.

Thank a veteran today, and remember all those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country.
