Announcement from the Arizona Democratic Party:

Progressive Candidate Training Program is designed to prepare progressive individuals who are planning or considering to run for an elected office in the near or distant future.

This six-part comprehensive training program provides the nuts and bolts of what it takes to win and explores the values of running as a candidate committed to advancing progressive policies.

Planned Parenthood sponsors this program in partnership with the Center for Progressive Leadership.

Details:

From school board to state representative, local elected offices help set the policies that most directly affect our communities. The Arizona Progressive Candidate Training Program helps individuals who want to be a part of shaping the agenda of their communities through local elected office. The program includes:

*  Three comprehensive workshop weekends
*  Peer Coaching
*  Personal Campaign Plan Development

Workshop Topics:

*  Communicating Your Vision & Values Through Narrative
*  The Nuts & Bolts of Being an Elected Official
*  Issues Affecting Progressive Candidates
*  Campaign Planning – Preparing to Win and Stay on Track
*  Fundraising & Cultivating Donors
*  Campaign Financing
*  Message Development and Delivery
*  Voter Contact
*  Panel Discussions with Elected Officials

Dates, Places and Rates:

Trainings will be held over the course of three weekends. Participants are expected to coordinate their schedules to ensure their participation in all of the workshops. 2011 workshops dates are:

*  October 29 and 30
*  November 12 and 13
*  December 3 and 4

The fee for this training is $100. The fee helps cover the costs of training, meals and materials.
