During and after the Trump Bund Rally on the last night of the MAGA love fest masquerading as the Republican National Convention, the Biden/Harris Campaign released two ads reminding voters what a Trump/Vance Administration would mean to American Society and Democracy, especially Black Women’s health care.
The first ad called “Look Up Project 2025” asks people to go on the internet and read all about the repressive and Anti-Democratic policy measures a Trump/Vance Administration would pursue if elected.
With a ticker tape rolling at the top of the ad, the piece shows what would happen if the Republican version of Mein Kampf and The Handmaid’s Tale went into effect. These reactionary measures include:
- Immunity for Trump’s crimes.
- Denying access to contraception.
- A national abortion ban.
- MAGA control of the F.B.I.
- MAGA prosecution. of their political enemies. Show Trials here we come.
- Tax hikes for the middle class while the rich get tax cuts.
- Abolishing the Republic’s system of checks and balances.
Commenting on the ad in a Biden/Harris campaign press release, Ammar Moussa wrote:
“Project 2025 has stormed the internet, swept the airwaves, and taken over billboards across the country – and now it’s coming to every American living room. Team Biden-Harris is investing in new ads to warn voters about the dangers of Donald Trump’s Project 2025 – his radical, far-right playbook for a second term. The manifesto lays out Trump’s plan to ban abortion nationwide, slash Social Security and Medicare, and consolidate power so he can rule as a dictator on day one. His agenda is destructive, drastic, and draconian – and has no place in America. Now, every voter will hear about Trump’s Project 2025 and show up in droves this November to defeat it.”
The second ad, called “Shawna Moore “Access” 60 demonstrates what would happen to Black Women’s health care and reproductive freedom nationwide if the Trump/Vance ticket wins.
Below is the script for the ad.
SHAWANA MOORE: I’m Shawana Moore, I’m a women’s health nurse practitioner.
Overturning Roe was just the beginning.
I think there’s fear and uncertainty. Within the United States, there’s a maternal health crisis that disproportionately impacts women of color. And I come from those communities, I identify, I am a Black woman. I understand what that looks like, what it feels like. I live that experience.
My heart aches for patients needing care. Because we have to understand the legal landscape when it comes to providing reproductive health care, which includes abortion care.
For even some health care providers, it could even be a state of confusion.
Access to health care, including reproductive health care, is at stake. We need leaders who are going to protect our rights. And that’s Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
