The GOP Establishment ‘Super Friends’ Committee

SuperFriendsWell this is interesting: the gubernatorial candidate from the Center for Arizona Policy, “Cathi’s Clown” Doug Ducey, has teamed up with GOP congressional candidates Andy Tobin (CD1), Martha McSally (CD2), and Wendy Rogers (CD9) — all of whom have contested GOP primaries — to form an “alliance” in the wake of McCutcheon v. FEC.

It’s sort of the GOP establishment version of Super Friends. The villains from the Legion of Doom must be the Tea Party.

Mitch at Arizona’s Politics blog reports on THE ALLIANCE:

It is official: GOP candidates in Arizona’s three Congressional swing districts have allied with one of the candidates in the wide-open Republican primary for Governor to hold a (mega-)fundraiser together.

The Statement of Organization (at this link, and reproduced below) lists state House Speaker Andy Tobin’s campaign address in Flagstaff as its primary address, and is being run by his campaign’s Virginia law firm of Holtzman Vogel.

Interestingly, this JFC only features candidates’ committees, instead of including PACs, and/or party committees.  This will mean that individual contributors will be limited to a total donation to the JFC of “only” $19,600, and PAC’s can contribute $35,000.

They may want to drop the “victory” from the committee name, the way that John Cougar Mellencamp dropped the “Cougar” from his name because he thought it was pretentious.
