The mythical moderate Republican Ethan Orr (R-Tucson) aka “E.Orr” is supporting some of the most radical Tea Party members of the Hose for leadership positions, which belies the faux “moderate” label the idiot media villagers assign to E.Orr.
The Pima County Democratic Party sent out this press release as a helpful reminder to Tucsonans: We Won’t Get Fooled Again.
Support for Tea Party Leader Shows Orr Is No Moderate
We are known by the company we keep and Legislative District 9 Rep. Ethan Orr’s decision to publicly support LD-22 Rep. David Livingston’s bid for House Majority Whip is yet more proof that Mr. Orr can no longer hide behind the false label of “moderate.”
Livingston is a self-proclaimed member of the “Tea Party” and a “constitutionalist” who voted in support of the Republican’s religious bigotry bill SB 1062 and has received 100% rating with the anti-choice Center for Arizona Policy and the endorsement of noted bigot former state Senator Russell Pearce. What’s more, Livingston last summer traveled to Nevada to show support for rancher Cliven Bundy and his followers after they threatened to commit violence against federal agents.
Now comes Livingston’s news release with the names of 19 Republican State Representatives and House nominees who support his candidacy for Majority Whip for the 2015-16 Legislative sessions. Along with Orr, the list contains a “who’s who” of legislative conservatives, including David Gowan, Steve Montenegro, Kelly Townsend and Michelle Ugenti.
“The fact that Orr’s name appears alongside those of such dyed-in-the-wool conservatives in support of a man who will push the Legislature even further to the right and continue to damage Arizona’s national reputation speaks volumes about where Orr really stands on the issues,” said Pima County Democratic Party Executive Director Shasta McManus. “Couple that with Orr’s own high marks from the Center for Arizona Policy and the National Rifle Association and LD-9 voters can be left with only one conclusion: that Orr is NOT a moderate but just another lawmaker marching in lockstep with Arizona’s conservative movement.”
Fortunately voters in LD-9 have two excellent alternatives, Democrats Rep. Victoria Steele and Dr. Randy Friese, who will help bring sanity back to the Capitol and work to restore Arizona’s public image. Both Dr. Friese and Rep. Steele are ready to act as champions for equality and fight for women’s rights, responsible gun ownership and to ensure our public schools have the funding required to give all Arizona children a better future.
