The 2024 Presidential Election should be a landslide…
for Joe Biden and the Democrats.
Especially if Republican Base Voters, as exemplified in the above Clay Bennett cartoon follow the same behavioral pattern that they have had for the last four electoral cycles.
It is a sad commentary on the times that an insane fringe fraction of the country has the power to potentially renominate a person who:
- Was twice impeached due to acts committed in his Presidency.
- Has been indicted twice and may receive one or two others.
- Has been found liable for sexual assault.
- While President, publicly miscommunicated the dangers of the Coronavirus, probably causing the illness and deaths of Americans.
- Has been endorsed twice by former KKK head David Duke.
- Tried to and is still attempting to destroy American Democracy through his Big Lie of the 2020 Presidential Election.
- Set a new low standard for lying while in office.
Remember when Richard Nixon was forced to resign because of covering up a botched break in at the Watergate Hotel.
Remember when Gary Hart had to withdraw from his Presidential Campaign because pictures were shown with his mistress on his lap.
Times have changed.
One definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over again.
It could also be a definition for Idiocy.
Well, that is one explanation, combined with the Republican fringe becoming a sizable MAGA White Christian Nationalist-Neo Fascist-Reality Denying voting bloc, for this voting behavior.
This behavior also holds for most of the Republican Presidential candidates (Ron DeSantis, Nicki Haley, Tim Scott, and Mike Pence) that are trying to cater to all the MAGA voters by either running to the right of Donald Trump or identifying with the White Christian Nationalist views on:
- Compromising reproductive freedom.
- Banning books.
- Discriminating against members of the LGBTQ Community and other non white ethnic groups.
- Turning the clock back on social progress.
- Restricting or hindering voting rights as minorities combined start to constitute a majority of the population.
- Thinking what happened on January 6, 2021 was no big deal.
- Denying scientific and historical facts.
The views espoused by this idiotic fringe bloc of the country are not the sentiments of the majority of the American Public, including many Independents and sane Republicans.
Voters to the left of this MAGA fringe (about three quarters of the country) should recognize the dangers posed by this dangerous idiotic voting bloc and send a resounding message to them and their nominees, including their Presidential one, by defeating them at the polls in 2024 and beyond.
