Traitor Kevin McCarthy Declares A GQP War On Federal Law Enforcement And The Rule Of Law In Defense Of His Crime Boss (Updated)

Axios reports, McCarthy vows probe of DOJ over Mar-a-Lago raid:

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) said Monday the House would investigate the Department of Justice if Republicans took the majority.

He’s seen enough? No one has seen what is in the search warrant obtained by the FBI, except the federal judge who issued the search warrant upon probable cause that evidence of a crime is likely to be found in the home of Donald Trump.

Let’s not forget that Kevin McCarthy led 139 GQP House members as accessories to Donald Trump’s attempted coup d’état to overturn the 2020 election, even after little Kevvy pissed his pants and called Trump and went on TV stations to beg him to call off his violent mob of MAGA/QAnon thugs breaking into the Capitol and threatening the lives of members of Congress and the Vice President.

Days later he flew to Mar-a-Lago to kiss the ring and swear his fealty to his “Orange Mafia” crime boss. He promised to not cooperate with a January 6 investigation – which would necessarily implicate him and his 138 other GQP accessories to Trump’s attempted coup d’état to overturn the 2020 election – and he and his criminal cohorts have sought to downplay the significance of America’s first attempted coup d’état and to obstruct the work of the January 6 Committee.

He and his Republican Coup Plotter co-conspirators have refused to testify to the January 6 committee, no doubt because of their exposure to criminal liability and that they would have to plead the Fifth Amendment.

Traitor Kevin McCarthy is a criminal co-conspirator. Let’s never forget that. The voters in California’s 20th District should send this criminal packing and elect his opponent, Democrat Marissa Wood in November.

UPDATE: Note to Republican voters in CA-20. Kevin McCarty is never going to be Speaker of the House despite his fever dreams, so when he tells you how this could benefit your district, he is lying to you.  At CPAC this past weekend, the soon to be indicted Rep. Matt Gaetz and Steve Bannon called for the overthrow of Kevin McCarthy as Republican House Leader so that January 6 Coup Plotter “Gym” Jordan (R-OH) can replace him. Because the guy who knew about extensive sexual abuse at Ohio State University and then tried to cover it up by encouraging victims not to testify is an upgrade over Kevin McCarthy.

Republicans were quick to denounce the move, especially Trump allies, who called for action against the FBI and DOJ – in particular the Coup Plotter co-conspirators:

      • Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) tweeted: “DEFUND THE FBI!” [= “defund the police”]
      • Rep. Paul Gosar (R-Ariz.) said a Twitter post he supports “a complete dismantling and elimination of the democrat brown shirts known as the FBI” [= “eliminate the police.”]
      • Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.) tweeted, “Congress must look into the viability of enforcement agencies that abuse their authorities for political purposes.”

The media really needs to stop quoting these criminal co-conspirators without pointing out that they were among the Coup Plotters who attended the December 21, 2020 strategy session at the White House. The DOJ Needs To Prosecute These Republican Coup Plotters Before They Can Succeed. This is like asking Al Capone’s gang members what they think about their crime boss.

Hey Coup Plotter Andy Biggs, did you mean like the Secret Service, and Trump allies at the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Justice, and the Department of Defense whom he put in place in the final days of his administration to use federal troops and law enforcement if and when Trump invoked the Insurrection Act on January 6, 2021? Because that is why all those text messages disappeared or have been destroyed. This was the final step of his attempted coup d’état but he chickened out at the very end. Now his allies have destroyed the evidence to coverup the crime. That is an “abuse their authorities for political purposes.” It is also a crime.

And what say you Coup Plotter Paul Gosar? “Destroy the FBI.” Seriously Dude? Are you taking too many hits of nitrous oxide again?

The Washington Post adds, Top Republicans echo Trump’s evidence-free claims to discredit FBI search:

Top Republicans on Monday rallied quickly behind Donald Trump’s efforts to discredit the FBI search of his Mar-a-Lago Club, embracing his claims, presented without evidence, that it was a political attack intended to impede Trump’s chances if he runs for president again.

[T]he quick defense of Trump and combative posture by leading Republican officeholders and potential 2024 presidential aspirants underlined the former president’s status as a standard-bearer in the party, even as he was tainted anew by another investigation. With fewer than 100 days before the midterm elections, many Republicans continue to rally around Trump’s false claims about the 2020 election, his baseless attacks on a slew of officeholders and his divisive rhetoric.

[M]any of the Republicans aghast at the FBI raid had supported FBI probes of former secretary of state Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server in 2016. When then-FBI Director James B. Comey found no reason to charge Clinton after an initial investigation, and after another probe of emails on a laptop belonging to a Clinton aide shortly before the election, they asked whether the Democrat had gotten off easy.

“Secretary Clinton’s fundamental lack of judgment and wanton disregard for protecting and keeping information confidential raises continued questions about the exposure of our nation’s diplomatic and national security secrets,” McCarthy said in 2016, after Comey initially announced the end of the investigation.

[Trump fluffer] Sen. Lindsey O. Graham (R-S.C.), a onetime Trump critic turned Trump [Coup Plotter and co-conspirator in Georgia], said Monday on Twitter: “We’re 100 days away from midterm elections. President Trump is likely going to run again in 2024.” He added, “Launching such an investigation of a former President this close to an election is beyond problematic.”

What is “beyond problematic,” fluffer boy, is that you are fighting a grand jury subpoena to testify about your role in trying to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia. If you did nothing wrong, you should voluntarily testify to the grnd jury.

Six years earlier, however, Graham was critical of the FBI after it found no crime to charge in its probe of Clinton’s email server.

“We need a special prosecutor, someone outside the Justice Department, to look into this matter,” said Graham in an August 2016 interview on Fox News, 75 days before that year’s presidential election. “If you’re waiting on this Justice Department to hold anybody in the Obama-Clinton world accountable, you’ll die of old age. It’s sad but it’s true.”

A person familiar with the investigation related to the search of Trump’s safe at Mar-a-Lago, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss its details, said agents were conducting a court-authorized search as they probe the potential mishandling of classified documents that were shipped to Mar-a-Lago. The FBI declined to comment.

Trump nominated the current head of the FBI, Christopher A. Wray, to the position in 2017, after firing Comey amid a probe of whether any Trump campaign advisers had conspired with Russian operatives to influence the 2016 election.

Trump likened the FBI search of his home to an assault that “could only take place in broken, Third-World Countries” and compared it to Watergate, when allies of President Richard Nixon illegally broke into the offices of the Democratic National Committee.

The man is a fucking idiot. The Watergate break-in was a third-rate burglary carried out by G. Gordon Liddy and his band of Cubans, some of whom were former CIA employees. This was a court authorized search warrant issued by a federal judge based upon probable cause – and you can bet the judge set a very high bar to meet probable cause to search the home of an ex-president – carried out by active FBI agents conducting an investigation into Trump’s mishandling of highly classified documents, some of which are so sensitive that they cannot be described in court documents because that would require classification of the court document. There is no comparison.

Republican lawmakers seized on the former president’s rhetoric, casting the search, without evidence, as federal government overreach against a political adversary.

“This was a strange day,” Trump said during a telerally for former Alaska governor Sarah Palin, a congressional candidate, on Monday night, calling it “another day in paradise.”

Trump and the Republican National Committee quickly sought to capitalize on the search as a fundraising opportunity, sending out texts to supporters that referred to “Biden’s FBI” or “Biden’s Department of Justice.”

Always the grifter seeking to pick the pockets of the rubes in his MAGA/QAnon personality cult.

Rep. Carolyn B. Maloney (D-N.Y.), chairwoman of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform, said that Trump’s alleged mishandling of classified documents put “our security at risk” and that she is “committed to getting to the bottom of President Trump’s potentially serious misconduct and advancing critical reforms to prevent these abuses in the future and protect our national security.”

Some Democrats accused Trump and Republicans of hypocrisy [nah, you think?] after their years of attempting to prosecute their political enemies. Many Democrats tweeted that no one, not even a former president, is “above the law.”

Traitor Kevin McCarthy and Republicans are actually proposing retaliatory persecution of their “political enemies” – i.e., federal law enforcement – if Americans are foolish enough to put this criminal enterprise back in charge of Congress. This is classic psychological projection. Do not be surprised to see calls to impeach the federal judge who signed off on the search warrant.

“This man and his fellow bootlickers hid under a rock rather than respond every time Donald Trump called for persecution, investigation, imprisonment, or violence against his political opponents,” said Rep. Don Beyer (D-Va.), referring to McCarthy’s statement. “These same people talk about Trump like he’s above the law. He’s not above the law.”

* * *

“I just hope DOJ fully appreciates all that it’s biting off here. Whether they want it to be or not, it’s going to become extraordinarily political,” said Brendan Buck, a longtime adviser to former House speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.) and a frequent Trump critic. “It would be in their interest to communicate very clearly what has happened and why. Regardless, the right is going to lose its mind, and Trump will again play the victim card to great effect.”

Republicans, even those with an eye on the White House in 2024, were swift in their condemnation of the raid and rallied behind Trump, firing off similar evidence-free statements.

“The FBI raid on President Trump’s home is an unprecedented political weaponization of the Justice Department,” tweeted South Dakota Gov. Kristi L. Noem. “They’ve been after President Trump as a candidate, as President, and now as a former President. Using the criminal justice system in this manner is un-American.”

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), also echoing Trump’s rhetoric, said the raid was akin to political persecution seen in “3rd world Marxist dictatorships.”

And Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), who is considered one of Trump’s biggest potential rivals if both men run in 2024, synthesized the GOP’s main grievances.

“The raid of MAL is another escalation in the weaponization of federal agencies against the Regime’s political opponents, while people like Hunter Biden get treated with kid gloves. Now the Regime is getting another 87k IRS agents to wield against its adversaries? Banana Republic,” DeSantis wrote on Twitter.

Across social media and in statements, some Republicans’ characterizations of the raid attempted to paint a dystopian picture of America.

“If you’re a Republican with any kind of voice, and not speaking up for President Trump tonight don’t expect any of us to speak up for you when your time comes,” tweeted Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.), a far-right member of Congress. “You may not realize it yet, but they’re coming for all of us.”

Paranoid much?

This is the same White Christian Nationalist Coup Plotter along with her “twin” White Christian Nationalist Coup Plotter Marjorie “Q” Greene who portrays the violent MAGA/QAnon insurrectionists who tried to overthrow our government on January 6, 2021 as innocent “political prisoners.” The Surreal Spectacle of Marjorie Taylor Greene and the Capitol Riot Rage Cage.

Brendan Buck nailed it: the right has lost its freakin’ mind.

I will reiterate what I have said many times before. The Party of Trump is a criminal enterprise led by a third-rate mafia “Don” Trump. They are all accomplices, coconspirators and accessories who aid and abet his criminality and corruption. There is not a patriot among them. They put fealty to their “Dear Leader” above all else, including loyalty to their country and our national security, and their oaths of office to defend the Constitution. They reject the rule of law and are amoral. It is a betrayal of the faith of the American people in our constitutional government. They must all be held accountable.

It would be an act of political suicide for the American people to put this criminal enterprise back in charge of Congress. This is how democracy dies, and the dark night of fascism descends upon America.
