By now most have received the news that Rick Renzi is under investigation by a Tucson-based Grand Jury and that the FBI has raided his wife’s insurance business to seize records. This is really just the second shoe to drop, however. Most who have followed Renzi’s slimy trail for any length of time have been expecting that size 12 to drop at any time, even though the voters in CD 1 successfully ignored Mr. Renzi’s alleged ethical and legal peccadilloes to re-elect the sleazebag.

What I find most interesting about this affair is what other coverage has glossed over with a mere mention: Renzi stepped down from his post as the ranking minority member of the House Select Committee on Intelligence Oversight. This is a very influential and important assignment; Renzi would not abandon this post voluntarily, just as he has not stepped down from any other committee assignments as a result of recent events. Why resign from that committee?
The answer is that internal committee rules require members of the Select Intelligence committees to have, in effect, security clearances, which are monitored by the House and Senate Security Offices. One reason to pull such a security clearance is that the member is under investigation for criminal activity, even if he has not yet been indicted or convicted. Anyone in Renzi’s position is a security risk because of their compromised legal position, or their poor character and judgment, or both.
So, why did Renzi step down from the Select Intel Committee? Because his security clearance has been pulled by the House Security Office, and he had to. He might sell state secrets to Al Qaeda for a few million in an offshore account to tide him over if he has to flee with his wife and their dozen or so rug rats to someplace without an extradition treaty. Not really… but someone in a position to be easily manipulated, or who may have a very unethical nature should not have access to the NSA’s black budgets.
It’s a minor point, really, considering the oncoming freight train of hurt bearing down on Dickie Renzi, but I hate loose ends and unexplained bits of a story.

Senator Harry Reid from Nevada has done “LAND SWAPS” in Arizona that are just as corrupt. Last year I called for his resignation for the same reasons Renzi should resign. If an investigation begins it will lead to Harry Reids LAND SWAPS.
Another miss fit in the Senate who just resigned her position from the Senate Appropriations Committee in charge of Government Contracts to Iraq Contractors is Dianne Fienstien who’s Husband was informed BEFORE Contracts were awarded by HER Senate Committee and she gave the PRIVATE SECRET IMPARTIAL Contracts worth BILLIONS and put MILLIONS into her PERSONAL BANK ACCOUNT to HER HUSBAND!
Now how important is Rick Renzi’s bussiness deals to the Democratic Party?? It is in the best interests of The Democratic Party to keep its mouth shut in this case or loose (2) Two Senate Seats!!!
When all these investigations started Renzi laughed at all of it. He claimed that the DOJ & the FBI were a bunch of idiots and they couldn’t catch a cold. This is because he wqas Bush & Cheney’s poster boy and their rubber stamp! I think they have proven him wrong and hopefully they will send him to prison for a very long time! Renzi used his congressional seat for profit, his profit and he did that well to the tune of a few million dollars and still is laughing all the way to the bank. He could have hid that money in a Swiss bank account. Not only did he pull some shady deals like his land swap deal and the promotiuon of his father’s company for contracts on gadgets that don’t work anyway for $87 Million but he also sold his votes to the oil, drug, insurance, banking, credit card industries in exchange for millions in campaign contributions. Yes millions and they all have these records! Renzi would say; you want my vote you need to pay me first!
The local newspapers hid all this last November from the people of district one but why? WHY DID THE COURIER HIDE THIS INFORMATION? RENZI HAS BEEN UNDER INVESTIGATION FOR THE LAST 2 YEARS AND THE COURIER KNEW ABOUT IT BUT YET THEY HID THIS INFORMATION SO THAT PEOPLE DID NOT KNOW HOW CORRUPT AND WHAT A CRIMINAL RENZI REALLY IS! HE ONLY WON BY 51 % AND THAT IS IF HE DIDN’T BRIBE THE VOTE COUNTERS.
