Would Trump Even Defend Alaska if Russia Attacked it?

Donald Trump is utterly vile. It is absolutely unconscionable and a literal treason to the United States’ Constitution to support him for President again given that he tried to overthrow our government last time and has damaged our national security in profound ways that most don’t even fully understand yet. I didn’t think my opinion of his character and leadership could get ANY lower – but Trump is always beating one’s lowest expectations.

At one of his recent unhinged cult gatherings, he ranted at the enthralled and ignorant crowd that he would actively betray our treaty obligations to our NATO partners, who faced down the Soviet threat with us, standing on the front lines of the Cold War for decades with us shoulder to shoulder:

“No, I would not protect you,” Trump recalled telling that president. “In fact, I would encourage them to do whatever the hell they want. You got to pay. You got to pay your bills.”

The White House later Saturday called Trump’s remarks “appalling and unhinged” and touted President Joe Biden’s efforts to bolster the alliance.

“President Biden has restored our alliances and made us stronger in the world because he knows every commander in chief’s first responsibility is to keep the American people safe and hold true to the values that unite us. … Encouraging invasions of our closest allies by murderous regimes is appalling and unhinged – and it endangers American national security, global stability, and our economy at home,” White House spokesperson Andrew Bates said in a statement.

Could Donald Trump more clearly indicate he’s a traitor and a useful idiot for Putin’s Russia?

Well, he could: he could give up Alaska to Putin, who recently claimed that our purchase of Alaska from Russia is invalid and he intends to take it back.

One has to wonder: if Putin sent troops to invade Alaska and take it by force, would Trump even defend the state or would he find a reason to give it over to his evident master?

He might. But only because the state reliably votes Republican in national politics and it has oil. He would probably try to cut a deal to cede Juneau to Putin, because it is too liberal and doesn’t have any of the oil. You know your heart I’m right.

Trump should be tarred and feathered and dropped off naked in Red Square for his master Putin to dispose of, not running for the Presidency. He’s an insurrectionist, a wanna-be dictator, and one of the worst human beings on the planet, yet this Republican (now MAGA) Party wants to reward one of history’s biggest losers with the highest office once again, even as he vows he will instantly betray our national interests and do his best to destroy our constitutional order.

  1. So Trump takes orders from Putin and Putin will make a claim that Russia’s Angel sale of Alaska to the US was illegal and invaded, and Trump will do nothing.
Wow! You make right wing conspiracy theorist look sane! Funny and pathetic at the same time.

    • I’m pretty sure it was a rhetorical device, John Who Lives on the Taxpayer Dime Kavanagh.

Your messiah Convicted Rapist Donald J. Trump is a modern day Neville Chamberlain and the reason the rhetorical device works is because of Convicted Rapist Donald J. Trump own words.

The GOP Motto in 2024 is KGB Agent Putin Good American Democracy Bad.

What in the actual F’ is wrong with you? Russia is a shithole kleptocracy.

Don’t believe me? Move there and you’ll be missing Newark in about ten minutes.

Please, please, please, move there, and prove me wrong.

    • As to you, Blog Jester. You seem not a grasp that satire is intended to point at a greater truth: Trump is a Putin tool and a traitor to America and her democratic traditions and values. I doubt that Putin would ever make such a stupid move, but I can guarantee one thing – if he did and Trump were President, Trump would try to find some way to weasel out of confronting Putin and abandon Alaskans to their fate, just as he has Ukraine.

  2. He would defend Alaska, a solid Republican state. Hawaii he would let go faster than DSteve Bannon can accept his next pardon.

    • I wouldn’t be too sure about that, Barry. Even Alaska is having progressive leanings these days. Recall that they keep electing an anti-Trump Senator and just sent a Democrat to Congress! Also the Alaska House is a multiparty coalition currently because the GOP only held a two seat majority and was unable to form a majority caucus due to in-fighting. Alaska, too, is turning blue…

  3. Wow! You speak out loud to our inner hopes for the demise of Trump.
He is a horrendous threat to our Nation’s place in the World. We must do every possible thing possible NOW to be absolutely sure that he will NEVER RUN FOR OR BE ELECTED TO ANY OFFICE OR POSITION OF POWER IN THIS COUNTRY….OR ANY OTHER PLACE. OUR FUTURES ARE AT STAKE.
