Since the 2024 campaign, Arizona’s Democrats have been vocal about what a Donald Trump restoration to the Executive Branch would mean to the Grand Canyon State.
Fast forward to March 4, 2025, the day Trump is scheduled to deliver a joint address to Congress outlining how he plans to destroy America from within, many of those Democrats are calling attention to the fact that their warnings are becoming true.
For example, with Trump imposing tariffs on Mexico, Canada, and China, Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs posted on social media:
“I joined with Arizona business and agricultural leaders to highlight the threat new tariffs pose to Arizona’s economy. These tariffs are a tax on families and businesses that threaten to make groceries and gas more expensive while harming critical Arizona industries.”
Yesterday, the Governor protested Musk/Trump/Vance Unconstitutional spending postponements/cuts on aid programs to help reduce air conditioning costs for Arizonans, writing:
“This was a reckless decision by the Trump administration. Federal dollars that lower energy costs and help us combat extreme heat should not be held hostage.”
Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes concurred with Hobbs on the cuts to lower energy costs, offering “Trump’s reckless cuts are hurting Arizonans.”
On Musk/Trump/Vance not restoring FEMA funds to help Arizonans combat forest fires, Mayes wrote:
“The Trump administration is blatantly ignoring court orders and continuing to withhold critical FEMA funds that states rely on for wildfire prevention, flood mitigation, and emergency response.”
On Musk/Trump/Vance mass firings of government workers, including veterans, Mayes posted:
Arizona Representative Yassamin Ansari also called attention to the adverse effect on the Trump Tariffs, writing on social media:
“Arizona shares a border with Mexico and benefits directly from our trade agreements every single day–with Trump’s tariffs, the price of everything from avocados to car parts is about to go up for Arizonans. One man’s vanity is putting our entire international trading landscape at risk of collapse.”
Ansari also called attention to the draconian effect on her constituents should Musk/MAGA Republican designs for Social Security come true, relaying:
On Trump’s tariffs, Representative Greg Stanton wrote:
“Trump’s sweeping tariffs are causing economic chaos. Your 401(k) is going down and prices on everything from groceries to gas are going up.”
In an earlier post, Stanton said “The real pain of these misguided tariffs will be felt by American families and small businesses.”
Senator Mark Kelly released two posts on both the Trump tariffs and his broken promise of reducing prices for Americans.
On the tariffs, Kelly conveyed:
“Trump’s tariffs on Mexico and Canada haven’t even gone into effect yet and they’re already hurting the economy and your retirement accounts. As I’ve said before, this is just a bad idea that will raise costs on working families.”
On Musk/Trump/Vance/ MAGA Republicans destructive plans for America, Kelly, in a video posting, told the people:
“Donald Trump has done nothing to lower costs for you. Instead, he pardons violent criminals that beat police officers in the Capitol on January 6. He’s letting Elon Musk take a chainsaw to vital government programs and he’s giving him access to Americans’ most sensitive data…He has fired thousands of essential government workers. People who are actually working to make the government more efficient…Trump, Musk, and Republicans are taking services away from you in order to make room for tax cuts for billionaires like them. The Republican plan is simple. Families lose and billionaires win. That’s the truth:”
On Trump’s Tariffs, Senator Ruben Gallego commented:
“While Trump plays tough guy, Arizona is paying the price. His reckless trade war is a direct attack on our businesses, farmers, and families.”
On MAGA plans to cut Medicaid and Social Security, Arizona’s Junior Senator wrote:
“Elon Musk said OUT LOUD that Social Security is a ponzi scheme. These people aren’t serious about protecting your benefits. I am. That’s why I passed the Social Security Fairness Act to make sure teachers, firefighters, and police officers get the benefits they EARNED.”
Arizona House Democratic Leader Oscar De Los Santos has issued several posts, condemning Musk/Trump/Vance/MAGA policies but his most recent sums it up well.
