I understand that Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele is in Tucson Friday night as the Keynote Speaker for the Pima County Republican Party's GOP Unity Rally & Dinner.

OK. I have to ask "what unity?" after the Tea-Publicans just completed purging the last of the moderate Republicans from the party in the August primary. John McCain and J.D. Hayworth have yet to kiss and make up.

In case you haven't been paying attention, there is a civil war going on inside the GOP. As I have said many times, "this is not your father's GOP."

Michael Steele has been a disaster for the RNC, and that is according to the Republican Party establishment. Don't take my word for it. I understand that Michael Steele is seeking another term as party chairman. Things are going to get ugly.

Personally, I consider Michael Steele the gift that keeps on giving. He is pure comedy gold. The comedy writes itself.
