Yesterday evening, Arizona Representative Yassamin Ansari held a town hall event at the Burton Barr Public Library in Phoenix.
It drew about 250 people.
The Representative took questions from constituents concerned about the direction of the country under the Musk/Trump/Vance Central Committee, what she is doing with her colleagues to fight it, and according to reporting at the event, offered a sneak preview that like Arizona Democrats, National ones may be offering an Affordability Agenda of their own.

Click on this clip of Representative Ansari offering advice to a constituent on how to help in the fight against the MAGA agenda and calling out Republicans either avoiding town halls because they know their positions are not popular or, like a certain Arizona Republican Congressman discussed later, are only letting in MAGA kindred spirits.
In this clip, Representative Ansari, in a veiled shot at Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer, calls on getting new blood in Democratic leadership and new efforts to burst the media misnomer that Democrats have no agenda.

On Monday, Arizona Senators Mark Kelly and Ruben Gallego held town halls in the Phoenix and Tucson areas to discuss their plans to protect Medicaid.
It also drew many people.
According to a press release after the event from Senator Kelly, among the families they took questions from:
“We feel incredibly powerless trying to plan for our family [ …]. We’re trying to shield ourselves before we’re wounded, and we don’t know how. […] Would you mind telling your colleagues in Washington that when they’re burning down this house, there’s people still inside. . My children are inside.”
Gallego also went to Douglas and Sierra Vista on March 18, talking about his attempts to protect Medicaid, Veterans and safeguard border security.
At the Democratic events, all the public that could attend were welcome.
Representative Ansari, Senator Kelly, and Senator Gallego were responsive to people’s questions.
These were open, recorded events where there was no litmus test on who can get in.
Not so with Republican Congressman and MAGA/Trump/January 6 supporter on steroids Andy Biggs who also had a town hall event.
However, no Independents were invited. Neither were any Democrats.
According to 12 News Journalist and Sunday Square Off Host Brahm Resnik, even mainstream media was not allowed in.
This is a person who wants to be Arizona’s next Governor.
Does not sound like he cares about creating an inclusive (Wait. That’s a dirty word in MAGA world) coalition.
Ansari District Press & Digital Secretary Daisy Martinez poked fun at Biggs hiding by posting on social media:
Representative Ansari was on point when she said if Republicans like Biggs think what they are doing is so great for the people they represent, Arizona, and the country, then why are they only comfortable holding events that preach to the MAGA choir.
Swing voters who decided this election should be wondering about that too.

That is how Repubs are. I have observed many Repub state legislators. They only want to appear at partisan events, and they only want to be fluff questioned by friendly media. They think any hard questions or statement challenges come from commie media. They DO represent everyone, not just the ones they agree with. Gosh forbid, another point of view is ever heard, other than ones from their corporate appointed, or religious masters.
Remember kids, these are not “snowflakes”, these folks are “cowards”.
Snowflakes get their feelings hurt easily, according to MAGA, on the other hand, cowards run and hide like little beotches.
Douglas and Sierra Vista aren’t exactly “Tucson area”. So are Yuma and San Diego. The lack of information prior to the Gallego/Kelly events was glaring and was noticed and commented upon on social media. It was a lot easier to find info on Gallego’s Sedona $5k/ticket event this coming weekend. They can do better too.
Kelly and Gallego had an event on Tucson following the Phoenix one. Gallego had the Douglas and Sierra Vista events the day after.
