Two Days after his daughter, Liz made history by endorsing the Harris/Walz ticket, former Vice President Dick Cheney, known during his time in the George W. Bush Administration as the Darth Vader of American Politics, has joined the good side of the political force and swung his support to Vice President Kamala Harris.
In a social media post, the former Vice President wrote this:
“In our nation’s 248-year history, there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump. He tried to steal the last election using lies and violence to keep himself in power after the voters had rejected him. He can never be trusted with power again. As citizens, we each have a duty to put country above partisanship to defend our Constitution. That is why I will be casting my vote for Vice President Kamala Harris.”
Reacting to Mr. Cheney’s endorsement, Vice President Kamala Harris issued a press release stating:
“The Vice President is proud to have the support of Vice President Cheney, and deeply respects his courage to put country over party. He joins hundreds of Republicans who are backing the Vice President and her patriotic vision of America over former President Trump, because, as Vice President Cheney said, the very future of our republic is at stake in this election.
“For every voter who cares about America and understands the fundamental threat Donald Trump poses to our democracy and our Constitution, this campaign has a home for you. Vice President Harris will be a president for all Americans – whether Republican, Democrat, independent, or none of the above – and she will keep working to earn the support of every American.”
With this endorsement, three of the four Republican Vice Presidential picks before JD Vance (Dick Cheney, Paul Ryan, and Trump’s first Vice President choice, Mike Pence) will not be supporting Mr. Trump this November.
It is W and Jeb’s turn now to make history and put Country and the Republic First.

Agreed. At least for a change he’s doing something constructive to earn his taxpayer funded heart transplant. Now if he would only invite Felonious Punk, Couch Boy and the six ethic voids on the Supreme Court to accompany him on a dove hunting expedition…
I don’t give Cheney a lot of credit for this decision, but I do appreciate any impact on real conservatives his public support might have. He is a VERY wealthy guy and he knows that Trump intends to build a corrupt autocracy to rip off both the tax payers AND the wealthy who aren’t on Trump’s good side. Autocracy is ALWAYS deeply corrupt: they need corrupt forfeitures and seizures of private and public property to reward their claque of key supporters to keep them in power against public opinion. Cheney is acting to preserve the sanctity of private proprtey far more than any patriotic motive. Regardless of motive, however, we should welcome his support, despite how vile he certainly is in any other metric.
