DJT Handed Musk the Keys to Everything—This Is Not a Drill

Let’s cut to the chase: Elon Musk is no longer just a billionaire meddling in politics. He is running the show.

For all the noise about Donald Trump’s return to power, it’s clear who’s actually calling the shots. “President” Musk has embedded himself so deeply into the federal government that even Trump’s own people are reportedly frustrated by how much control he has. The difference? Trump craves power. Musk wields it.

And now, Musk’s latest stunt should scare the hell out of everyone: he and his allies are demanding access to the U.S. Treasury’s digital payment systems—the same systems that process Social Security, Medicare, tax refunds, federal salaries, and contractor payments.

They want control over $6 trillion in government payments, a system previously managed only by career officials for security and stability. A system designed to be boring, predictable, and immune to partisan meddling.

Until now.

Treasury’s Top Official Resigns After Musk’s Power Grab

David A. Lebryk, the highest-ranking career official at the Treasury, just resigned. Why? Because Musk’s people, operating under the sham “Department of Government Efficiency” (DOGE)—yes, they really named it after a meme coin—kept demanding access to the nation’s financial nerve center.

And when Musk doesn’t get what he wants? He crushes the opposition.

DOGE is nothing more than a government-sanctioned looting operation, and Lebryk was in the way. His resignation should set off alarms: this is how a government gets hijacked from the inside.

What Happens When Musk Controls the Treasury?

No one outside of Musk’s inner circle knows exactly why he wants direct access to government payments and that’s precisely the problem. But let’s be clear: this is not just about “efficiency.”

Musk’s track record tells us everything we need to know.

Treasury’s payment systems aren’t just numbers on a screen, they’re people’s livelihoods. Millions of Americans rely on Social Security and Medicare payments to survive. Federal workers depend on their paychecks. Contractors, hospitals, state governments—all of them rely on this system functioning without political interference.

And now, Musk wants the keys.

“Efficiency” Is the Excuse. Control Is the Goal.

The White House signed an executive order giving DOGE “full and prompt access” to government records and IT systems. That absolutely includes Treasury’s payment systems.

What happens when Musk’s team gets in? Cuts. Delays. Chaos. We can easily imagine all the government gaslighting that will occur.

  • Social Security payments? “Too expensive.” Expect “temporary freezes” in the name of “debt reduction.”
  • Medicare reimbursements? “Inefficient.” Hospitals could see payment bottlenecks that disrupt care.
  • Tax refunds? “Reevaluation needed.” Delays could be spun as a way to “prevent fraud.”
  • Federal salaries? “Workforce reductions.” A backdoor way to squeeze government workers into quitting.

This isn’t a conspiracy theory. It’s a pattern.

The Trump administration already tried freezing all federal grant spending earlier this month—a move so reckless that lawsuits and public backlash forced them to reverse course in two days. Imagine what happens when Musk is the one making these calls, with no oversight and no accountability.

Musk Has Outmaneuvered Trump—And the GOP Won’t Stop Him

Even Trump’s own allies are sounding the alarm behind closed doors. Musk has steamrolled the administration, placed his people in key agencies, and pushed policies that even some MAGA loyalists think go too far. But here’s the problem: Republicans aren’t going to stop him.

  • The GOP built its brand on privatization, deregulation, and billionaire worship. Now, they’re staring at the monster they created—one who doesn’t need them anymore.
  • Musk isn’t interested in governing. He’s interested in ruling. And with Trump providing him cover, he’s accelerating his hostile takeover of the U.S. government.

We Have to Stop This Now. Here’s How.

This is not just some bureaucratic power struggle! it’s an existential threat to government accountability. We cannot let an unelected billionaire seize control of federal payments.

Here’s what we need to do:

  • Call your representatives. Demand public hearings and immediate oversight of DOGE and its attempts to infiltrate the U.S. Treasury.
  • Expose the plan. The more people understand what’s happening, the harder it will be for Musk to get away with it. Share, post, make noise.
  • Watch your benefits like a hawk. If you rely on Social Security, Medicare, or tax refunds, pay attention to any sudden “delays” or “changes.”
  • Hold journalists accountable. Demand hard-hitting reporting on what Musk is really doing inside the government, not just fluff about his latest tweets.

This Is a Coup—And We Have to Fight It

Musk isn’t waiting for a title. He’s already acting as President in all but name. He has no accountability, no oversight, and no mandate from the people. If we don’t stop him now, he won’t just run the government—he’ll own it.

  1. Americans are generally not motivated to organize effective populist movements until the pain is personal (civil rights, Vietnam.)

At this moment I strongly suspect many Americans are cheering for Elon Musk. He’s sticking it to the Libs, eradicating their DEI policies, and bringing white supremacy back from the mid 20th century. They ain’t worried. Yet.

    • And when Felonious Punk’s & Elmo Skum’s policies cause their lives go south they’ll react to their Pavlovian conditioning by blaming Democrats and their bête noire de jour.

The dumbing down of America has been a raging success!

  2. Through their websites this is what I sent Senators Gallego & Kelly last night:

“Why on earth did you vote to confirm Sean Duffy as Secretary of Transportation? Or any of Trump’s cabinet nominees? To a person they are all grossly unqualified. Secretary Duffy’s response to the National Airport disaster proves the point.

When Presidents Obama & Biden were in office the Republican party went out of it’s way to throw as many roadblocks to their agendas, it’s past time to return the favor, in spades.

As a left of center Democrat I realize your instinct is to act in a bipartisan manner but with the past thirty (or more) years of obstructive Republican behavior that ship sailed long ago. Chasing the Bipartisanship Fairy is a fool’s errand and does nothing for the nation, in fact works against it. Bottom line: The public is more interested in the Senate improving their lives rather than some display of bipartisanship.

Every bit of Trump’s agenda & policies need to be fought tooth and nail & the public needs to see the Democratic Party doing that.”

So far I haven’t heard back from Gallego’s office, Kelly’s sent me a form letter email saying:

“…Please know that your correspondence has been received, and my team and I will work to respond to your policy questions in greater detail. Due to the high volume of correspondence that we receive, our response times may vary.”

    So we’ll see.
