Former House Rep. Steve Huffman on RTA Next at DGT

Steve Huffman is a native Arizonan and has lived in Tucson for over 40 years. Steve is a graduate of Canyon Del Oro High School and the University of Arizona with a degree in Political Science.
Steve works for the Pima County Regional Transportation Authority and the Pima Association of Governments as a Community Affairs Administrator. He previously worked in government affairs positions for the Town of Marana, the Tucson Association of Realtors, and Cox Communications.
Steve served for four years in the United States Naval Reserves. He also served eight years as a State Representative in the Arizona House of Representatives from 1998 to 2006. During that time he served as Chair of the Environment Committee and the Ways and Means Committee. His district included Oro Valley, Marana, Tucson and northwest
Pima County.
Steve is active in the community and serves in several community organizations. He has two sons that are both attending the University of Arizona. Steve is also an Eagle Scout.”
Carolyn’s note: The RTA Next regional transporation plan passed on March 10, 2026 in a special electon, and will be in effect for 20 years from 2026 to 2046. The vote was 60% to 40% for Prop. 418, 58% to 42% for Prop. 419. Voter turnout was at 31.7%.
