No DGT program, in honor of Memorial Day

“We Democrats of Greater Tucson reverence and honor those who have given their last full measure of devotion to America’s experiment in human freedom and flourishing. Despite our ongoing and sometimes glaring deficiencies, we are still the essential nation that protects the world order that has created the most prosperous and powerful global civilization that has ever existed on Earth.
Our military personnel serve this nation not for conquest, wealth, or the martial vainglory of parades and processions: they serve because they love the idea of America. They love our potential, and our ethos of continually striving to perfect our Union and to bring freedom, enlightenment,and prosperity to all mankind. They give their service, their honor, and too often their lives in devotion to those ideals and, most importantly, to protect their fellow soldiers and citizens.
This Monday, our nation remembers and honors those who fell in the defense of the American Experiment, that it might continue, and triumph over the evil of tyranny, greed, and might over right.
As our wise and compassionate President Biden closes his every speech in remembrance of the sacrifice of his own beloved son Beau, “God bless our troops.”
