Friday Dog Blogging

Img_0894Alligator Pig. That’s the name of this game. My dog Magic loves to play this game with most of the Labs we foster. Some are too sedate or too sumissive to play, but most are game. Shown here is Aspen, now named Rose by her new adoptive people, our most recent foster dog. Rose loved the Alligator Pig game.

The rules are simple: open your mouth, grunt and snort, and try to bite and hold onto delicate parts of the other dog. I’ve seen this game played with great energy and ferocity as the dogs push each other around the house, and I’ve also seen it played in a rather desultory fashion while laying about, as shown here. Regardless of the variant, there are always two indespensible features of the game: grinning like a demented alligator, and grunting like a rooting pig.

  2. SAVE AIR AMERICA PHOENIX
On March 1, 2006 our Air America Phoenix station was bought by a Christian Broadcasting company who immediately took us off the air. This was a “dark” day for progressive talk radio in America. You have flooded us with emails pleading to get Air America back on the radio and asking how you can help. We have heard your cries and we can get us back on the air by April 3, 2006 !
The former staff of Air America Phoenix has negotiated a deal to resurrect operations at a new home effective April 3, 2006 but we need your help! We must immediately raise money to cover our operating expenses out of the gate. Our goal of $500,000 will guarantee us a home for years to come.
