Good News: Democrats Advance Their Affordability Agenda at the State Legislature

In good news from the State Capitol, several Arizona Democrats at the State Legislature are delivering on their Affordability Agenda, sponsoring and advancing, through bipartisan votes, measures designed to help and reduce costs for Working and Middle Class Arizonans

A press release from the Arizona Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee (ADLCC) highlighted some legislators and their bills that have made it out of their respective committees. They include:

HB2213: Sponsored by Representative Nancy Gutierrez (LD18), provides free school lunch to Arizona students.

HB2874: Sponsored by Representative Sarah Liguori (LD5), aims to decrease medical fraud.

HB2819: Sponsored by Representative Stephanie Stahl Hamilton (LD21), brings down premium costs.

HB2842: Sponsored by Representative Stacey Travers (LD12), provides benefit protections for veterans.

SB1182: Sponsored by Senator Analise Ortiz (LD24), provides necessary heat protections for construction workers.

HB2831: Sponsored by Representative Patty Contreras (LD12), ensures homeowners are not defrauded by criminals.

HB2488: Sponsored by Representative Alma Hernandez (LD20), reduces recidivism by expanding job opportunities for people on probation. “

Democratic House Leader Oscar De Los Santos

Commenting on the Democrats delivering on their Affordability Agenda, Democratic House Leader and ADLCC Co-Chair Oscar De Los Santos conveyed:

“Democrats are working hard to ensure that policies that actually improve Arizonans’ lives are moving forward. Meanwhile, Republicans are focused on going after abortion access, wanting to name highways after Trump, and following the misguided direction of Elon Musk. Democrats have been able to work across the aisle to ensure that important legislation continues to move at our State Capitol and we are proud of each and every member who has introduced legislation this session.”
