It’s campaign season, and television, cable, streaming, and radio are flooded with candidate ads.
Several are funded by Turning Point, an organization that masquerades as a strong Christian-themed entity.
Apparently, they are ignoring the Commandment about bearing false witness, producing several ads that excel in misinformation and the pathetic, including those distorting Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs’ gubernatorial record, blaming her for Trump’s and Republican Gubernatorial Nominee Andy Biggs’s inflationary policies, the condition of Arizona Public Schools, criticizing her for Republicans shortchanging them for decades, and actually discussing her tenure as a college instructor.
Unfortunately for them, Governor Hobbs has receipts and over the last several weeks has produced them, showing that actions do speak louder than words, including the lying ones from Turning Point.
On September 29, the Governor announced the allocation of $16,474,100 in American Rescue Plan funds to Arizona’s three public universities to partially offset budget cuts pushed by Legislative Republicans.
Commenting on this at the time, Governor Hobbs wrote in an office press release:
“Arizona’s universities are the engine of our state’s economic development and I’m proud to support them. I will always fight to ensure state universities have the resources they need to deliver opportunities for Arizonans and ensure our employers have a high-skilled workforce. I’ll continue standing up to extremist legislators and their attacks on public education that kill jobs and make our state less competitive.”
Governor Hobbs’s office also announced on October 14 that Arizonans AZRx program have saved an average of $249 on medical prescriptions.
Commenting on that, Hobbs said:
“Access to affordable prescriptions saves lives and unlocks security and freedom that are key to the Arizona Promise. I launched AZRx to lower the cost of medications and improve health outcomes for Arizona families. I’m thrilled that Arizonans are saving an average of $249 per prescription through the program, and I encourage more Arizonans to sign up for a card so they can save money too.”
Finally, the Governor’s office relayed that through her Power AZ initiative, 30,000 Arizonans have received utility payment assistance, saving them $13 million on energy bills.
Commenting on this, Hobbs offered:
“As Arizonans struggle with rising costs due to Washington’s cost-hiking agenda, we are delivering relief to working families in Arizona. I’m proud that through my Power AZ initiative, we provided utility bill assistance to tens of thousands of Arizonans. This relief means more stability for families across our state.”
The Governor touched on this in her latest campaign ad called “Forward.”
In the ad, Hobbs said:
“Arizona, it’s been the honor of my life to serve as your governor. We’ve done a lot to make our state more affordable and safer. But Andy Biggs he’s spent his time in Washington backing extreme policies that have driven up prices. Here in Arizona, we know how to work together. We’ll keep protecting our water, crack down on fraud and wasteful spending, and prioritize lowering costs. There’s so much more to do, so let’s get to work. Together, we can keep Arizona moving forward.”
Arizona Voters: Look at the record and ignore the lying and pathetic ads coming from Turning Point.
