Kirsten Engel Dominates Juan #CiscoMAGA in Debate

Kirsten Engel finally got a chance in a debate on October 8, 2024, to confront Juan CiscoMAGA on his radical voting record in Congress and personal views versus his carefully curated centrist posturing.

AZ-06 Democratic candidate Kirsten Engel again put Juan Ciscomani on the defensive during the final televised debate. Ciscomani continued to dodge his extreme anti-abortion record and his ties to the Christian Nationalist organization “The Patriot Academy.” At the same time, Engel outlined a vision that moves Arizona forward by protecting abortion rights, passing the bipartisan border bill, and strengthening the middle class.

“Ciscomani was on defense tonight because his record in Congress is delivering for Donald Trump, not Arizonans,” said Chairwoman of the Arizona Democratic Party, Yolanda Bejarano. “We deserve better than another two years of inaction on the border, tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy and extreme abortion bans. Kirsten Engel is the leader Arizonans need in Congress who is ready on day one to protect our rights and deliver real results. ”

Ciscomani’s constituents know that his “hypocrisy is like the Energizer Bunny” and rather than working for them he “consistently votes and sides with the extremists in the HouseThe House majority, which he is a member of, has accomplished nothing because they don’t stand for anything other than to create fear.” Juan Ciscomani has consistently left voters wondering, “Who does Ciscomani represent? Tucson? Or Mar-a-Lago?” and hoping “…he gets a backbone and starts to fight for his constituents.” They are asking, “Is it too early to vote for a new Representative?” and are ready to reject him on November 5th.

CiscoMAGA cheered fall of Roe v. Wade

“I remember how angry and heartbroken I was when the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. Like so many of us, I immediately knew that women would suffer because of this cruel, inhumane ruling — and that Republicans would let it happen,” Engel said after the debate.

Juan Ciscomani, on the other hand, cheered when the decision was handed down. So, when he tried to distance himself from his anti-abortion votes during our debate on Tuesday, I wanted to set the record straight.

Here’s what I told him — and the voters of AZ-06:

“I’m a woman. I’ve had complications. I’ve had miscarriages. This is not something that we leave to politicians. Last time I checked, Juan, you’re not a doctor. I don’t trust you with my health care. I’m sorry, I don’t trust you with my daughter’s health care. We need to leave this to women and their doctors.”

My opponent has voted to restrict access to abortion pills and cut reproductive healthcare for active service members. He has tried to insert politicians into our most personal decisions. He is anti-choice, no matter what he says to voters now.

  1. I tried to make a comment but I was told that I already did. (“Duplicate comment detected; it looks as though you’ve already said that!”)

I DIDN’T MAKE ANY PREVIOUS COMMENT! WHAT GIVES???

  2. NOT FAIR! Kirsten Engle was NOT given her full minute for a rebuttal as was her opponent. WHY NOT???
