Only in MAGA world can terms like diversity, equity, and inclusion be viewed as a threat to society.
It is like the French aristocrats shunning the terms Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity in the days before the French Revolution.
How did that work out for many of them?
In 2025, the Musk/Trump/Vance Central Committee is taking a page out of George Orwell’s 1984 and trying to warp the reality and truth people see, read, and hear.
Remember when they pulled down the portraits of former Defense Secretary Mark Esper and Joint Chiefs Chairperson General Mark Milley because of their standing up to Trump’s criminal acts in the first term.
Fortunately, this is still not Stalinist Russia. Just pulling down the portraits will not erase those figures from history or the public’s memories.
Another Orwellian feature the Musk/Trump/Vance/MAGA bandwagon is incorporating is the erasure/purging of words on federal websites and documents. Look at this posting from Steve Inskeep who cited a report from the New York Times.

Among the words on the forbidden list are anything to do with promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion or calling attention to the lack of it in certain sectors.
Also, Gulf of Mexico is a no no.
So is historic, oppression, environmental quality, Native American, multicultural, clean energy, climate science, pollution, and climate crisis.
The word men is okay but apparently women is not.
How messed up is that that these MAGA White Christian Male Nationalists are scared of the word, women.
According to the New York Times Reporting:
“The above terms appeared in government memos, in official and unofficial agency guidance and in other documents viewed by The New York Times. Some ordered the removal of these words from public-facing websites, or ordered the elimination of other materials (including school curricula) in which they might be included.
In other cases, federal agency managers advised caution in the terms’ usage without instituting an outright ban. Additionally, the presence of some terms was used to automatically flag for review some grant proposals and contracts that could conflict with Mr. Trump’s executive orders.”
Remember these are the same people that want to get rid of the Department of Education and get rid of the presentation of the actual historical events in United States and World History classes.
Pete Hegseth, the unqualified Secretary of Defense thought it was important to enforce MAGA DEI restrictions by removing pictures of the bomber that dropped the Atomic Bomb on Hiroshima because the plane was named The Enola Gay.
He also ordered the removal of pictures of black servicemen.
Earlier, the Air Force tried to delete videos of the Tuskegee Airmen but fierce public blowback halted them from following through.
Mocking Hegseth and MAGA for their stupidity, Arizona Senator Ruben Gallego posted:
This editorial cartoon making its way through social media is on point. This is why efforts to adopt the MAGA approach to education, curriculum development, vocabulary censorship, and history instruction must be thwarted.
