Monday, December 30, Noon: Democrats of Greater Tucson luncheon, at the Kettle Restaurant, 748 W. Starr Pass Blvd., west of I-10. East 22nd Street turns into W. Starr Pass Blvd. at the I-10.  The Kettle restaurant serves American buffet food, and is on the north side of the street, near the Quality Inn. An optional buffet lunch is available for just $12.00 that includes beverage, tax, and tip. Ordering from the regular menu is available. DGT is taking the holidays off and will return on Monday, January 13.

Beyond Event

Saturday, January 11, various times: Beyond Event, Tucson. The Beyond Event was created in response to the Tucson Mass Shooting on January 8, 2011 when 19 people were shot, 6 died, and the survivors included former CD 8 Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, later CD 8/CD2 Congressman Ron Barber, a Congressional staff member and other community people.  Healthy living choices and activities were the goal of this Beyond effort, to be “beyond” the pain & horror of that shooting. Stay tuned for details on various health and fitness events happening at several locations across Pima County. Event listings will be posted at www.beyond-tucson.org.
