MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell asked Harvard Law professor what arguments he would present to his former student, Attorney General Merrick Garland, as the “legal highlights” of Cassidy Hutchinson’s testimony.
Professor Tribe used the opportunity to address Merrick Garland directly and expalin to him why Donald Trump and his co-conspirator Coup Plotters must be prosecuted.
”I don’t want to minimize Nixon’s offenses, but this increasingly looks like an attempted coup d’etat.” The costs of not at least indicting the leader are much higher than the admitted costs of doing so. The following analysis is sober and fair-minded:https://t.co/7N0UHxCqgJ

AG Garland mustn’t let a Trump announcement of candidacy — which could be just another head fake — force his hand. Saying he’s officially running can’t immunize Trump just because elections are nearing. https://t.co/xejBOxZAPW

Merrick Garland and his DOJ prosecutors had better be listening to Professor Tribe. And they had better act with alacrity. Time is of the essence and is running short. DOJ inaction had better not be appeasement of the death of American democracy.
