Scottsdale City Councilman Barry Graham Gets Endorsements From MAGA and Know-Nothing, Conservative Groups

Scottsdale City Councilman Barry Graham counts several strange bedfellows among the list of organizations endorsing him.

They are the American Freedom Club and Crimson Saquaro.

While it should not be surprising that these right-leaning organizations would support the conservative Graham, perhaps the Scottsdale City Councilman should consider the track record of these entities and see if what they support is good for his local residents.

Take Crimson Saquaro, for example, and the propaganda image on their homepage telling their subscribers to choose between the red pill representing Andy Biggs, who they say will save Arizona, and the blue pill denoting Governor Katie Hobbs and how she is destroying the Grand Canyon state.

Does the Councilman really want to count this group that is endorsing him?

May not be the best call to make.

Then there is the Arizona Free Enterprise Club, which claims to promote “fiscal discipline, limited government, and a balanced budget” along with “consumer choice and freedom in our education and health care systems.”

Fiscal Discipline? Is this the same fiscal discipline that has allowed the close-to-billion-dollar Empowerment Scholarship Account welfare program for the rich private school voucher program to run amok?

There are probably many Scottsdale residents struggling to put food on the table during the affordability crisis while the state’s richest take the taxes these people pay and use the proceeds to send their children to the private school of their choice.

Limited Government? Is this the same limited government that wants to take away a woman’s reproductive freedom or do away with mail-in balloting? Many of the candidates in the State Legislature that the Freedom Club supports for their economic programs approve of these measures.

Again, there are probably many women in Scottsdale who do not like that version of limited government, along with many voters who welcome the option to vote by mail.

Balanced Budget? They obviously have not seen the latest $40 trillion national debt figures that have ballooned over the last 45 years, thanks to the failed trickle-down tax policies of Republican Presidents from Reagan to Bush II to Trump.

Voters need to pay attention to the organizations that endorse candidates. It tells them in most cases what the candidate believes and what policies he will embrace.

It is an educational exercise that all voters should complete before going to the polls this November.
