  1. I’m with Kevin. I’m also of an age when lots of people went to Washington multiple times to let the people there know that we wanted a policy change, and we wanted to end the Vietnam War. It took time and effort, but this country’s policy got changed. People power is not necessarily violent. The Corporatists own the media. You have to actually make yourself present in order to be heard.

    • And what exactly would you protest against? What issue would bring together enough people to make it effective. The Viet Nam War was almost 50 years ago and people were dying. The protest was focused by the deaths and brought together a big coalition of people from across the spectrum. What issue today could garner that sort of focus?

  2. Barring a wave, it’s hard to see Senate totals changing much in 2016, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, maybe NH, and, if Grassley retires, maybe Iowa are potential D pickups. Colorado and Nevada could move in the other direction.

What we’re moving towards is a map that has very few states with one Senator from each party. That puts the Rs at quite an advantage.

  3. one of our problems with our government is how short the terms are, as soon as a representative or senator wins the election they spend an inordinate time running for getting in again. I keep voting in my best interests but it is becoming very difficult to keep believing that my voting actually matters, I will never have money to shower these clowns with to keep them attentive to what’s important for me and my family….methinks our “republic” is bought and paid for by Wall Street with the rest of us living the illusion that our voice matters to one side or the other…the French were going through something similar to this until 1789…then they took care of things without bothering to cast ballots…maybe Americans need to wake up and figure something a little stronger than “vote the bums out” for a change

    • “All revolution comes from the barrel of a gun.” – Mao’s Little Red Book

Be very careful for what you wish. There are 265,000,000 guns in the United States and most of them are in the hands of conservatives. Gun control has made sure to disarm the liberals. Besides, one Civil War in our Country’s history is enough, don’t you think?
