Thank you President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Senators Kyrsten Sinema and Mark Kelly, and Representatives Ann Kirkpatrick, Ruben Gallego, Raul Grijalva, Tom O’Halleran, and Greg Stanton.

These true public servants, along with a bipartisan group of Senators and Representatives across the country had the foresight to pass the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law three years ago last week.

It is important to remember that none of Arizona’s Republican Congressional Members voted for this vital legislation like other members of their party across the state did.

Debbie Lesko was not part of this.

Either was Andy Biggs, Paul Gosar, or David Schweikert.

When it comes to rebuilding bridges, roads, electric grids, and airports, these four “public servants” were missing in action.

When it came to expanding the internet to rural areas and underserved communities, these four “public servants” were derelict in their duty to the people they served.

When it came to removing unhealthy lead pipes from the nations water supply, these four “public servants” turned their backs on Arizonans and the American People.

The Bipartisan Infrastructure legislation, finally passed after Mr. Biden’s predecessor did nothing meaningful to rebuild the country making “Infrastructure Week” a joke, during his tenure, has had the following benefits for Arizona since its passage three years ago.

  • 522,000 People now receiving affordable internet.
  • Close to a billion in clean water pipeline investments.
  • $3.7 billion has been announced in Arizona for roads, bridges, roadway safety, and major projects.
  • Improvements to Arizona’s airports, transportation systems, and ports of entry.
  • Children across Arizona are riding in clean energy school buses.
  • Electric Vehicle Charging Stations are being built across the Grand Canyon State.
  • Old and abandoned mines are being sealed up to protect resident’s safety.

What about any of this would Lesko, Biggs, Gosar, and Schweikert be against?

In a White House statement on the third anniversary of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law’s passage, President Joe Biden said:

“To have the best economy in the world, you have to have the best infrastructure in the world. That’s why three years ago, I was proud to sign the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law – the largest investment in our nation’s infrastructure in a generation. And when the bill passed, we showed that we can get big things done when we work together.

In just the three years since I signed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, my Administration has launched over 66,000 projects across the country, repairing 196,000 miles of roads and 11,400 bridges, replacing 367,000 lead pipes, and expanding and modernizing ports and airports. And today, we’re investing an additional $1.5 billion in funding for rail investments along the Northeast Corridor – the most heavily trafficked rail corridor in the United States, supporting 800,000 trips per day – five times more passengers than all flights between Washington and New York.

We’re doing all this with American workers and products that are made in America. These investments are creating jobs, benefitting our communities, and ushering in an infrastructure decade that is planting the seeds for a better and more prosperous future.”

Commenting on Facebook, Tucson Mayor Regina Romero posted:

“Today we gathered with TUSD students, teachers and administrators and Tucson Electric Power representatives to welcome U.S. EPA Region 9 Staff Director Kevin Gong at John B. Wright Elementary School. There we celebrated the first of 10 electric school buses coming to TUSD schools! These new buses are made possible thanks to nearly $4 million in federal funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and thanks to $1.1 million from TEP’s Electric School Bus Rebate Program. Buses are one of the biggest emitters of carbon dioxide emissions, contributing to respiratory issues, particularly in children. The City of Tucson is already making the transition to cleaner transportation. It is inspiring to see the largest school district in Southern Arizona join us in our goal of transitioning to zero emission buses.”

Representative Greg Stanton posted on X:

Thank you again President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and Arizona’s Democratic Congressional Delegation for improving Arizona’s and the Nation’s Infrastructure.

Also, thank you for the economic progress made during the Biden/Harris Administration.

One day the people will give the Biden/Harris Administration credit for the great work they did even if Donald Trump tries to steal the credit for himself.
