The Biden/Harris Administration and Senators Sinema and Kelly Deliver Jobs, Progress, and Improved Border Security to Arizona

Donald Trump never did this.

He said he would improve border security by building a wall and have Mexico pay for it.

Did not happen.

He said he would rebuild America’s Infrastructure and Manufacturing Leadership.

Again, never happened.

It has happened though during the Biden/Harris Administration with the help of reponsible public servants in Congress like Senators Kyrsten Sinema and Mark Kelly.

Two examples from the last two days.

Earlier this week, President Joe Biden signed into law the Building Chips in America Act, a measure that “will streamline federal permitting processes for microchip manufacturing projects while maintaining bedrock protections for clean air and clean water.”

This measure, co-sponsored by Senators Kelly and Sinema, is a supplement to the CHIPS and Science Act passed two years ago.

Think of all the blue, green, and white collar jobs in Arizona this law will help create.

In a statement on the President signing the crucial manufacturing legislation, Senator Kelly, in a press release, said:

“Getting this bill passed and signed into law took more than a year of bipartisan negotiation and work,” said Kelly. “The result is smart, effective policy that will maximize our efforts to bring microchip manufacturing back to America by preventing unnecessary delays to getting these factories built. That’s important to our economy, especially in Arizona where it means tens of thousands of great paying jobs, and it’s important to our national security, reducing our reliance on foreign supply chains for this critical technology.”

Senator Sinema wrote:

“In order to remain globally competitive in semiconductor manufacturing, we must cut red tape to fuel the completion of critical facilities and projects. I’m thrilled our bipartisan bill passed the U.S. House — and I look forward to it being signed into law.”

Today, the two Senators issued a joint statement announcing that, through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Act, the Port of Entry in Douglas Arizona, a location Vice President Kamala Harris recently visited, will receive up to $145 million to upgrade and add modernized facilities to, according to the press release, “significantly increase efficiency and security, improving the flow of commercial and passenger traffic, enhancing border security measures and reducing wait times. The new infrastructure is designed to support the latest technology in Customs and Border Protection (CBP) operations. The upgraded facilities are also expected to bolster economic activity by streamlining trade and travel between the U.S. and Mexico. This project supports local businesses and communities reliant on cross-border commerce.”

Commenting on the border area improvements, Senator Sinema wrote:

“These investments to construct the Douglas Land Port of Entry and modernize the existing Castro Land Port of Entry are crucial for Arizona’s security and economic prosperity. I’m proud to deliver this win for Douglas and our entire state.”

Senator Kelly relayed:

“For decades, leaders in Douglas, Cochise County, and the State of Arizona have called for the construction of a new, commercial land port of entry in Douglas. Since my first official visit to Arizona’s southern border, modernizing our ports of entry has been a top priority for me. Now, we’re finally getting it done. This new commercial port in Douglas will not only increase processing and inspection capacity, strengthening supply chains and facilitating hundreds of millions of dollars in trade, but it will also expand the ability to screen for illicit drugs more effectively. This is a win for Arizona’s economy, a meaningful step towards a two-port solution, and a major effort to secure our border.”

Again it is important for readers to remember. It is the Biden/Harris Administration, with help of legislators like Senators Sinema and Kelly, that has delivered modern infrastructure and border security to Arizonans and the American People.

Donald Trump had four years to deliver.

He failed the people of Arizona and the United States again and again and again.
