For the second time in about three weeks, Tucson Mayor Regina Romero journeyed to Washington D.C. to tout the effects of Biden/Harris Administration policies and largely Democratic Congressional achievements like the American Rescue Plan and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law on Tucson.
On September 21, 2022, Mayor Romero testified on the effects of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law on Tucson to the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee.

#Tucson is ready to be the sustainable, thriving city of the Future.
Our city is centering equity with the help of federal funding to fight climate change, electrify our transportation sector, and improve safety and accessibility for all the ways Tucsonans get around our city.

I look forward to thinking and dreaming boldly as we work on the continuation of #Tucson's streetcar and other infrastructure projects to better the lives of Tucsonans. I appreciate the incredible work of the @EPWCmte as we partner to implement the #BipartisanInfrastructureLaw.

My vision for #Tucson’s future is of an equitable, climate resilient, desert city that sustains itself through conservation, investment and good policy.
The nation benefits when Congress sends money directly to cities, we know how to get it done.

Today (October 7, 2022,) Mayor Romero went back to Washington D.C. again, visiting the White House this time and participating in the Communities in Action: Building a Better America sessions with other leaders from Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, and Nevada.
Before leaving, she commented in a press release:
“Tucsonans are benefitting from the investments of the Biden-Harris Administration. From COVID response and recovery to rebuilding our infrastructure to prioritizing community safety health and wellness, and climate resilience—Tucson is not only weathering the challenges of the last two years, but we are creating sustainable and transformative programming that centers equity in our communities.”
During the day, Mayor Romero made several posts on social media, including:
