Summary of endorsements for TUSD Governing Bd. race – General Election 2016 (updated)

This is a hotly contested race of 7 people running for 3 unpaid seats on the TUSD Governing Board.  There are lots of yellow signs around town, near the public schools about this campaign and the candidates. Incumbents Prof. Mark Stegeman (2 terms), Kristel Foster (1 term), Cam Juarez (1 term) are seeking re-election.

General Election 2016 Endorsements by Arizona Federation of Teachers – AZ

Teacher’s union AFT-AZ (Arizona Federation of Teachers – AZ) has issued endorsements statewide for the General Election 2016. Below is  the Southern Arizona list, being as they will be hosting a Bring Out the Vote Rally on Friday, Oct. 28,  at 5 p.m. at Los Portales Cocina Mexicana, 2615 S. 6th Avenue in South Tucson.

Been waiting to see whom the Tucson Weekly’s editorial board would endorse for the upcoming General Election of 2016.  They say  “Hell yes!” on both propositions 205 and 206, and endorsed the following candidates:

Pima County Supervisor D 1 :  Brian Bickel (D)

Who’s running for TUSD Governing Board in 2016?

Today was the filing deadline for those interested in serving on the Tucson Unified School District Governing Board.  7 people filed by the 5 p.m. deadline, so here’s the cast of candidates to choose from in the November 8th general  election.

This is a nonpartisan race for 3 school board members (unpaid volunteers). The three incumbents are Kristel Foster, Cam Juarez and Mark Stegeman, all running for re-election.
