Kyrsten Sinema Vows to Fight for the Issues that Matter To Arizonans

Democratic Senate Nominee Ninth Congressional District Representative Kyrsten Sinema

The contest to gain control of the United States Senate may be decided in Arizona with Ninth Congressional District House Representative Kyrsten Sinema running against Second Congressional District House Representative Republican Martha McSally for the seat held by outgoing Senator Jeff Flake. Observers feel the outcome of this race may decide who controls the United States Senate. Representative Sinema is looking to become the first Democrat to win a United States Senate seat since 1988.

With Sinema leading throughout the summer, the race has drawn closer as the McSally campaign and her surrogates have launched a series of misleading, inaccurate and false negative ads against her Democratic opponent.

The Sinema team and her supporters have been very effective in rapidly replying to these attacks with accurate, factual ads on McSally, especially on the issue of protecting pre-existing health conditions where ads relay how the Republican nominee publicly distorted her voting record to hide that she actually moved to undermine these protections.

Sinema has done well in appealing to Democrats, Independents, and Republicans disenchanted with the direction Trump has taken their party.

The first debate (an event the McSally people have been “hesitant” to embrace) is scheduled for Monday, October 15.

The NEW “Attack Microsites”: Negative Websites Hitting McSally, Kirkpatrick Keep Popping Up, But They’re Cleaner Than Past Efforts

Republicans called them “attack microsites” during the last midterms. The shoes (or, boots) are now on the other feet, and the new and improved models this month are generally staying further away from crossing the line. However, it is still a Googler-beware election world out there.

Four years ago, Arizona’s Politics was the first to report on three sites put up by the National NRCC changed the donate pages to make it apparent that the money would go to the NRCC instead of the spoofed Democrats.

The NRCC came up with official-sounding campaign committee website addresses, made the sites appear like official sites, advertised them on Google (etc), called the Democrats “frauds” and attempted to get unsuspecting persons to donate to the NRCC. After a wave of negative publicity, the

Now, the Democrats are steering clear from any “donate” pages altogether, in their “MarthaForSenate.com” website. The Arizona Democratic Party does mimic McSally’s font and style – sans the faux Air Force eagle logo – but states clearly on the landing page that its central purpose is “Martha on the issues:What McSally doesn’t want you to know”. There is no button or link to click to donate or interact, and there is no apparent advertising for the site on Google.

Arizona Democratic Party spokesman Drew Anderson tells Arizona’s Politics that “from slashing health care access and retirement security to selling

McSally tries the 2018 version of the Daisy Ad

In the 1964 Presidential Election, an anti- Barry Goldwater ad from supporters for Lyndon Johnson depicting a little girl named Daisy holding a flower as a bellowing voice counted down to zero followed by an imploding mushroom cloud. In 2018, supporters of Martha McSally, through a Mitch McConnell aligned Super Pac,  broadcast earlier ads containing false … Read more

What is Martha McSally For? Why will she not commit to a debate?

Republican Senate Nominee Martha McSally (left) and Democratic Senate Nominee Kyrsten Sinema (right)

In the three weeks since the primary election, Republican Senate nominee Martha McSally and her allies have aired several television pieces challenging Democratic Nominee Kyrsten Sinema’s commitment to our military, law enforcement, and the safety of our children.

These ads were false, as reported by Politifact, the Arizona Republic, and Blog For Arizona — including the one about wearing of the pink Tutu to protest our troops were false. They also pertain to events that occurred over a decade ago.

What these ads also prove is that Representative McSally has not been able to discuss what she is for and why Arizonans should support her. This would be important for the citizens of this state to know, especially since the two candidates will be debating sometime in October.
